Just wanted to say, this is one absolutely awesome website.
I read
your story about becoming an English teacher in Korea, and
I have
to say, your details about the struggle to not be unemployed
after
college are exactly what I was going through. I had been
offerred a
position there as an English teacher as well, but was reluctant
to go
through with it. After reading this website, I think it
would be well
worth the experience. Thanks a lot for providing a perspective
a
young unemployed college graduate can identify with!

I have just stumbled upon some fantastic readings and video
clips of
my home country SRI LANKA! How wonderful, who ever you are,
that
you'd give such tangible beauty and truth to what i call
"the intangible
flavor" of a culture. Its been 2 years since i left
my poor little Sri Lanka.
You brought laughter and tears to my eyes. THANK YOU for
knowing how
to capture the complex and yet sometimes innocent heart
of a tiny, torn
island. Profound Appreciation.

I like what I've seen so far. It's got heart and humor.
Keep up the
good work! I'm recommending this site to other friends.

Jiyan, your journal entries are so much fun. I'm actually
heading to
South Korea this fall to teach english. What is the one
thing you wish
someone had told you BEFORE you left to teach in Korea?
I'm so
excited to leave, but paying off some Uni. loans are holding
me back
right now. You're site was very informative and it's made
me even more
eager to leave as soon as I can. Do you find living there
for a year
changed your perspectives and has made you a better person?

Now
that I have a new browser, I can successfully view the guestbook.
Wonders! In any case, I really enjoyed the site, Jiyan.
I'm so excited
to finish school so I can bail out of here and see some
places in your
videos first-hand. I'm most likely going to link your site,
if that is okay
with you, on mine since I really enjoyed it. Hope you stay
'motivated',
and keep contributing the videos for our amusement.

I really enjoyed the videos on South Korea. I am about to
leave in a
few weeks and it was a very humorous preleude to what I
can expect.
Like you, I am also an aspiring filmmaker.

It's Saturday night in Seoul. I was browsing the forum at
Dave's ESL
Cafe and saw a link to your webpage. I'm glad I clicked;
there's some
great stuff on your website. I've had a fun time watching
your videos,
and I'm not even close to being done.

I
was a volunteer in Sri Lanka for a year from 1995 to 1996,
and
visited many of the places your video covers. The recent
events on
the island have made me think of it a lot recently, and
your videos
have brought back many happy memories.
