Drift Reality > London, England

Sometime in late September 1998, a raggedy boy with two oversized duffel bags stepped off a plane in Heathrow airport and boarded a train that would take him to London Bridge train station in Southwark, where he would spend a year studying at Kings College, London.

He had never been outside the United States and despite being packed into the train like a sardine while everyone glared at him and his huge duffel bags, everything seemed absolutely perfect to him.

The feeling that overtook him as he stared out the window and saw a landscape that was foreign to him reminded him of something he hadn't felt in many years.

Five years after my first trip abroad, I returned to London having traveled all throughout the world. London will always hold a special place for my heart because it was the place I realized that to travel in constant amazement at the wonder of the world, filled me with meaning and reassurance.
