Love Spreads Thin
You spread your love too thin,
And you gloss over nooks and crannies as your soft hand
Rakes a swathe
Through my hair.
You float over surfaces like a mixtical elixir,
Oozing and vacuous,
Dissipating at a moment’s notice,
Into icicle breezes.
The warmth you convey,
Is like being high,
And therefore,
Is transient and shallow and utterly useless.
It blows away like dust.
The love you impart,
Is fierce and strong,
But I think it’s mostly for yourself.
So you can sit content
And think of all the people
That you have positively influenced.
So find yourself another mirror,
Because this reflection has grown bored.
By the way, don’t call me anymore.
